It was nice to highlight this piece of history, although it did seem a bit simplistic. I think the hardship of what these women endured and accomplished could have had more emphasis. I agree with Malcom with regards to hallmark feel.
Good review fellas!!! I like when reviewers have differing opinions and we can hear both perspectives. So I agree that I’m glad Tyler Perry told this story but wish he would have let another person write it! The love story theme was annoying. I enjoyed the parts where they focused on how the women where able to get the mission done!!
My favorite part about this film was Kerry Washington. Honestly I would have loved to see more of her and her why. To Malcolm’s point it was too simplistic to be a war film. I needed more depth. I hated the scenes of the dead white boyfriend popping up. It took away from the seriousness of the film. But I still thought it was a good film I definitely almost cried when they applauded Kerry. I like that they showed her being tough on the girls but also her love for them
I'm leaning towards Malcolm with this one. Great story and had to be told but it just felt like a play not a movie. My lady liked it more than I did but like I told her, it would've been a great play😂😂
I didn’t have High expectations going in to watch this movie! With it being a Tyler Perry Movie! However I was Totally caught off guard.. I really enjoyed the movie as a Whole. Didn’t expect Oprah nor Susan Sarandon to make an appearance. It does feel like a Hallmark Movie 🎥 but maybe that’s so also it can be Shawn in schools. However the boyfriend ghost that kept popping up I didn’t like! Also Lena crying all the time and I just knew just knew the heavy set girl was going to be “the head snapping eyes rolling loud mouth of the bunch “… side note the actress who played her has a Beautiful voice!!.. including I enjoyed the movie for what it was, could it have been better yesss.. Also Kerry Washington really lead the whole cast her performance was 💯🎥
Yep! This is why I do not take podcasters or critics to heart. They are onky opinions. I wish they could have stayed in total bkiss like back in the 90's
Very little screen time does it mean the characters of fleshed out it doesn't mean the story is surrounding them with great intentions it's still a very mediocre done movie

Yes I hated that he kept popping up! It kinda took me out of the film when he would appear and also Lena crying all over the place!
They deserved a better movie. I didn't even know it was directed by Tyler Perry until I started watching it.

I love our history getting mainstream exposure. Yes , more indepth could have been done.
Did he not watch the interview of the real woman who told this exact story? The real woman was interviewed. She just died last year.

If you were actually to crap and poo on Tyler Perry's films I'm sure would lots a views. Tyler Perry is 50/50 for me as well.
Excellent movie. Very well done. Either we want inspirational movies or buffoonery. We have to show support for films like this.
